Five Little Monkeys Bilingual Song Fun for Children of All Ages

Let’s wake you all up this morning with some Five Little Monkeys Jumping on a Bed!

Or, as they would sing in Spanish, Cinco monitos saltando en la cama!

Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed (Board Book) by Eileen Christelow

This is a cute book that could be used along with our theme today!  After reading this cute board book, then bring on the music and movement fun from our Boca Beth Program

Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed (Board Book)

Go right into the Boca Beth song off our third bilingual music CD titled Canta con Boca Beth/Sing with Boca Beth.

“Five Little Monkeys”
(sung to the tune of “Five Little Monkeys”)

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed!
One fell off and bumped his head!
Mommy called the doctor and the doctor said!
No more monkeys jumpin on the bed!

¡Cuatro monos saltando en la cama!
¡Uno se cayó y golpeó la cabeza!
¡Mama llamó doctor y el doctor dijo!
¡No más monos saltando en la cama!

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed!
One fell off and bumped his head!
Mommy called the doctor and the doctor said!
No more monkeys jumpin on the bed!

¡Dos monos saltando en la cama!
¡Uno se cayó y golpeó la cabeza!
¡Mama llamó doctor y el doctor dijo!
¡No más monos saltando en la cama!

One little monkey jumping on the bed!
He fell off and bumped his head!
Mommy called the doctor and the doctor said!
No more monkeys jumpin on the bed!

Suggested circle time activity / classroom activity to bring this song to life for language learning fun!

This is an awesome song for spontaneous fun. Almost every child loves this children’s classic, and now they can learn it in a second language. Pretend the carpet or the mat you are using is a bed and start jumping like monkeys making the actions and noises of real monkeys. As the song sings about one monkey falling off the bed pretend to fall off the bed, then everyone pretends to call the doctor, then pretend to be the doctor saying “No more monkeys jumping on the bed!” Continue doing these fun actions for 4 monitos, 3 monitos, 2 monitos and then 1 monkey left!  The children love shouting out the English part of “No more monkeys jumping on the bed!” and after several times of doing this song they will begin to be able to say pieces of the Spanish matching phrase “No más monos saltando en la cama” and after a while they will have the entire thing down to a tee!!!

BOCA in Hollywood for the Red Carpet of an Awards Show                                  BOCA the Spanish language amigo found in a school bus                                BOCA loves sombrero fun with Spanish and music

Where are YOUR pictures my friends?  We are hoping to show each Friday new clips of BOCA around the country and even around the world.

We decided our contest prize was not enough incentive since many of you may not be able to get your child to Florida or New York or California for our next filming of our Boca Beth music videos for children.  So……………….

Here is the prize for the winning photo of BOCA!  A Boca Beth Beginner Set full of other cool stuff like a signed picture of our BOCA mascot from his California debut early this year and an autographed BOCA BETH t-shirt by Beth Butler (that would be ME!!!) and BOCA the mascot character.  Who knows?  One day we might be on TV or something, and then you’ll be the only one on the block with our autographs from way back when…….

So, get those digital cameras out, take pictures of BOCA at the beach, in the bathtub, on the swing set, at the park, wherever.  Send them to bocabeth@msn.com to enter weekly into the Friday posting, and then once a month we will choose a winner from a random drawing.  (Kind of like put the names into the Sombrero and draw a winner!!!)

Come on!  I know you are busy!  But this is cool!

Happy Educating!  ¡Sea feliz educando!
