Go get your child and circle around the computer to watch this adorable bilingual children’s music video!
Come on - you have got to have three minutes to give your child!
You will even find yourself chanting this Spanish and English song the rest of the day - with sonrisas/smiles!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1T7yGhDVec
(For a suggested activity in your preschool classroom, I would divide the group up into sides of the circle or sides of the room to have fun with this song that is off our third bilingual music CD. Maybe all the children whose names begin with A-L on one side, all the children M-Z on the other. Then they chant to each other this fun song about asking friends “What’s happenin’?” One side asks first with the other side answering and then they switch. Very fun way to learn this simple phrase.)
Do you have just a few more minutes? If so, as the founder, the song writer, the teacher, the mom, I am providing you with some FREE bilingual fun sheets, language cards and more to bring the Spanish learning to life.
Here is a cute coloring sheet about dog/perro and cat/gato: http://www.bocabeth.com/Bilingual_Resource_Area/Dog-Cat-1.pdf
Here are the two bilingual language cards to go along with that coloring sheet (pronunciation key is the easy way to write and understand how the word sounds in Spanish and in English): http://bocabeth.com/bb_nl/5-2-2007/0610_Boca_dogcat.pdf

Did you hear or read about Senator Ted Kennedy singing in Spanish just the other day? Yes! Even our politicians realize it’s no longer an option to be bilingual, it is a necessity! Listen in by clicking the link above!
On Donny Deutsch’s show The Big Idea just last week father, author and entrepreneur Troy Dunn mentioned not once, but twice, how little children today are running around the house speaking Spanish and English because they are at the right age to soak it up, and it’s easy for them.
We want little Daisy, Donny’s darling daughter (who is right in our target market age), to begin hearing some Spanish and English songs from our Boca Beth bilingual music CDs. Just as she has attended music class in New York, little Daisy too will be able to sing out in both languages with a little Boca Beth fun, making her daddy proud and feeling secure in the fact that his entrepreneurial-spirited daughter will be well prepared for our global economy!

Then there are the moms, the teachers, the providers who have known for years that this is the trend, the now is the best time to introduce a new language to little children, and not wait until our public school system decides to offer second language instruction. Read what people just like you and me have been saying about our Boca Beth fun products and easy way of learning a new language with your child for years!

It’s Monday morning, and you are wondering to yourself, “What can I do with the children that’s a little different today?” Whether you are stuck inside due to cold temps or snow or fog or rain or heat, I have some cool, fun, easy-to-use-right-away things for you and your preschool aged children below!
Here’s a song I wrote and recorded almost six years ago, and it’s still thousands of childrens’ and teachers’ and parents’ favorite! Titled I Like to Count / Me gusta contar (may goose-tah cone-tahr) this song will bring you and the children from one/uno (ooh-know) to ten/diez (dee-ayz) with music and movement fun! Click the link below to play!
Bilingual music song Me gusta contar/I Like to Count
Need some ideas to bring this fun song to life? (Hey, why reinvent the wheel if I have been using this song in classrooms and homes around the country? These ideas work! Then send me your ideas, and we will send you a Boca Beth t-shirt should we share your idea in our newsletter called The Boca Beth Buzz!) Sign up for the newsletter here! It is FREE each month to you!
Ask the children if they remember how to count from 1 to 10 in English. Count together using your fingers for visual aides. Then ask if anyone knows how to count from uno a diez (or desde diez) in Spanish and count together again. Have each child take a musical instrument, tell them we will be counting from 1 to 10 in Español e Inglés/Spanish and English, dancing in a circle/círculo (SEER-kew-low) and have them follow you, the teacher, around in a dancing circle to sing the song. When it comes time in the song after ten or diez I ask the children to “Stop!!!” “¡¡¡Para!!! (Pah-rah)” and make noise/hace ruido (ahh-say rew-ee-dough) until the words begin again. We always add lots of movement fun to this song since it’s so upbeat. Try to have someone use their fingers for the visual learners during each chorus!
Click here to download for FREE a coloring page this is fun to use to reinforce the number learning. This is right from our 44-page Boca Beth coloring/activity book!
Need the lyrics, the words, las palabras (lahs pah-lah-brahs) for this song? You might, but your children most likely will not since many of them are not even reading yet! Our adult brain thrives on seeing the words in black and white when it comes to a new language! Click here to get the lyrics for free! It is the 3rd song down on the page!
Now go have some fun amigas/friends/amigos!

Every year we celebrate the Month of Discovering Languages within a professional organization I belong to called ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages). And even though I personally refer to them now as World Languages, the sentiment is consistent throughout! It’s time our country prepares our young children for the global society and economy they will encounter.
Not sure where to begin when it comes to introducing Spanish and English to that special young child in your life? Choose from one of two activities that can assist you TODAY - each one based on the time required to listen or watch or learn from:
Choice one: One minute and 23 seconds Scoop your child up onto your lap and click this link to watch an adorable bilingual music video that will have both of you singing and dancing and playing in Spanish and English in a matter of minutes. Want a little more fun? Click here for the lyrics to the song so that you can practice them - your adult brain thrives on seeing the words in print. Your child most often is too young to even be able to read them!

Choice two: 5 minutes Print off the bilingual coloring/activity sheet for FREE today and then print off and cut out these two bilingual language cards that go along with this Boca Beth activity. You will see how quickly your child acquires the new words in Spanish, retains them and begins to say them with native pronunciation! Don’t worry that you are not a native speaker! The most recent research tells all of us that the interaction is much more important to the language learning than the fact that you hail from Spain or Puerto Rico. Want some proof? Read these comments on a book written by two moms (who are also PhDs) that is titled The Bilingual Edge.

Make it easy! Make it fun! Make it part of your daily routine! Then come back and tell me which one you did and how it worked!

The list of options of ways to say Happy Valentine’s Day in Spanish goes on and on and on!
Feliz Día de los Enamorados (From a Native speaker)
Feliz Dia De San Valentin
Feliz Dia De Los Enamorados
Feliz san valentin
Dia de los enamorados feliz
Feliz dia de los enamorados
Feliz dia de la amistad. = Happy friendship day
Feliz San Valentin
Feliz Dia de San Valentin
“Feliz Dia de Los Enamorados”
Feliz dia del Amor y la Amistad
In Mexico, we usually say: Feliz dia del Amor y la Amistad! some other Latin American counties say: Feliz dia de los enamorados!. I’d recommend you to make your cards as: Feliz Dia de San Valentin! everyone knows that expression as well.
So my Boca Beth friends, Happy Valentine’s Day, and whichever way you choose to say it in Spanish, it’s all good! The point is we are appreciating and learning one another’s language. Let’s be happy!

It’s been a journey - this blog world is still such a mystery to many of us. My original intent with this blog was to provide more for those of you who already know me as Boca Beth - the founder of a program that strives to provide parents and teachers with an easy-to-use and fun method for introducing Spanish and English to their little children.

I wanted to bring you behind the scenes as we grow from a company back in 2002 with an idea, to a company that today features 4 sing along bilingual music CDs, three engaging DVDs, BOCA the hand puppet who is the language amigo/friend of thousands of children worldwide, a coloring/activity book that goes hand-in-hand with our first movie, musical shakers, and then some fun extra things I have thrown in along the ride! Mouse Pads with BOCA on them, t-shirts for children and adults, language card boxes and BOCA BETH stickers!
I want to give you all what you want, and I need to hear from you! Would it make sense to lesson fun exchange of ideas on this blog? I post a lesson idea that has worked for me and the children I reach on a not-so-regular basis, then you comment back to us on what works for you in regards to this theme. For example/por ejemplo….I blog about the song What Time is it? / ¿ Qué hora es ? that is on our 2nd Boca Beth CD titled “More Boca Beth / Más Boca Beth.”

I give you my ideas of having the children act out the hands of the clock as we sing about the three different times of day, I suggest you buy an inexpensive wall clock from Target and put Boca Beth stickers at the 12, 3, 6, and 9 positions (Yes! I will mail them to you for free…just ask! bocabeth@msn.com I am serious! I will mail them to you FREE today amiga/amigo/friend!)
Then you all comment back on what has worked for you when introducing this song. And so the fun and exchange of great ideas goes. Then, once in a while, I run contests and keep the flow going………….
What do you think? I would love to hear from you…….Please post a comment below, and let’s get this party started!

Do you have a TO DO List ? You know, that yellow legal pad that sits beside your monitor day after day, growing line by line with things you should accomplish?
I have so many of those lists that I have to weekly compile them together onto a new, complete list so that nothing falls through the cracks ( I KNOW you know what I mean!!!).
Well, on my list since late 2006 I have had ‘check into mommy sites’ as a way of marketing. I had heard back then that one of the new ways and very affordable ways to start a buzz about my Boca Beth products was to have these mommy sites feature me, talk about our Spanish and English fun for little children, and the ball would start rolling!
I kept putting it off and putting it off. I even had asked an outgoing, new mommy friend of mine to join me and do this virtually for our Boca Beth brand from her home back in early 2007! Then she became pregnant with #2 and decided it was not a good lifestyle fit for her at that time.
Sooooo……finally I started doing it myself, snooped around the internet a lot to see who was talking, what they were talking about, how people responded to their comments and so forth. Then I started to contribute my thoughts at times, be real and sincere in my comments with not one mention of marketing Boca Beth fun……….and now it is starting to take off.
Do you read mommy blogs? Do you visit sites for women who want to be more and do more? Which are your favorite? I would love to hear!

Here is one of my newfound favorites where a contest is running for my Boca Beth Bilingual Backpack! Check out Shannon’s blog called RocksInMyDryer! She is a hoot! And runs a great blog and contest site.

Who knew?!?!?!? We go from gaining the right to vote in 1920 as women to now having Hillary run as a candidate for the President of the United States! Is this a great country or what?!?!?! (As Donny Deutsch says nightly on his TV Show called The Big Idea!!!!!!!)
Today I spent a majority of my day preparing the paperwork to show to the state of Florida that I am indeed running Boca Beth as a company that is majority run by women! What a surprise … (just joking!)
Guess I am a little bitter after hours of findng the paperwork in the abyss of paperwork I try to call my office!
Guess I am a bit cranky after making copy after copy and three hole puching it!
Guess I wish I were sleeping like everyone else in this home …. (even Molly the kitty couldn’t stay awake any longer!!!!!)
It’s all good - I ship off the 11 - tabbed notebook to Tallahassee in the morning and begin searching for Department of Education bids and hoping some Federal Government contracts even come my way for staff training and bilingual products for children!
Here I come world …. changing the communication of our young children one song at a time!

I know it’s been a few days since this hard-to-believe display of marketing “intelligence.” (NOT!!!)
I realize that the show is Donny’s to do with as he wishes.
I am well aware that Carmen Electra is huge, big (in more ways than two!!), and I give kudos to her as she has made the most of what God gave her.
My discomfort with her segment on The Big Idea this past Tuesday was her lack of intelligent conversation and her inability to reply to any question without “you know” being thrown in somewhere at least 20 times throughout the interview.
Was it an interview? Does Carmen even know what she is doing to get from point A to point B or is it simply that she has enough money to surround herself with a strong team her directs her every move? Unfortunately they cannot control her mind nor her verbalization, and as a teacher, as a mom and most importantly as an entrepreneur who loves The Big Idea and the smartness and quick wittedness of Donny Deutsch, this guest brought the show down in my ‘learning eyes.’ Even if I made “Naughty Pilates” DVDs or even if I taught Pole Dancing Aerobics I would have gleaned nothing from Carmen and Donny interacting on the set.
Please………………..Did anyone else see what I saw? Did anyone else feel the weird, almost embarassed gut feeling as Carmen began to speak? Did anyone notice the gleam in Donny’s eye that is always there as he interviews his dynamic guests disappear little by little as he too realized she wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed?
Come on! Spill your innermost feelings! Donny will admire you for it! As Donny says to us entrepreneurs often, “Is this a great country or what!?!?!?!?!?!?!”
