It’s a new school year in many parts of our country, and many teachers have made a commitment to introduce Spanish as a second language to their preschool children and early elementary school students.
I feel so very blessed to be part of this movement as songs from all four of my Boca Beth music CDs are being blasted from CD players across our country.
Check out this free YouTube mini lesson we provide educators, child care providers, homeschooling parents and families worldwide … demonstrating just how fun and easy it can be to introduce Spanish right alongside English (without having to take out 5 monthly installments to pay for the product!!!). Follow this link for some Boca Beth fun!
Want to win some of the products from our Boca Beth Program - where we make it fun, easy and affordable to introduce Spanish as a 2nd language? Check out my amiga/friend Sarah’s fun blog called Ohana Mama (just the name itself sounds fun!).
Sarah is hosting a fun giveaway of your favorite Boca Beth DVD and BOCA the puppet and language amigo. Check it out - you only have until September 3rd at midnight!

Did I hear a politician say, “World-class education system?” As a teacher and parent I can only dream about some type of follow-through on this point. Could it ever be true that our U.S. Education system will be considered a model to follow?
Hillary Rodham-Clinton was amazing last night…nothing short of spectacular!!! Even if you are not a registered Democrat or not a Hillary fan, everyone who witnessed her speech at the Democratic Convention last evening has to admit she was spot on.

She never missed a beat. She never licked her lips (a sign of nervousness and/or dry-mouth from such a lengthy speech). She never once found any of us looking at our watches thinking, “Is she ever going to shut up?”
I had heard her live 4 years ago at a woman’s conference in South Florida, and she was great. Last night she was exhilarating!
Thanks Hillary for allowing us to think we might truly be……

For those of you who know me well . . . I am the first to give thanks to someone who treats me really well, the first to write a letter about an employee who went above & beyond or even the one to call the manager of an establishment to commend him on his staff.
I am so about good karma that sometimes I wonder if it gets in the way of me being a successful businesswoman . . . but then I think about me, where I have been and where I am going, and I know I am doing the right thing with every hand written thank you note I take the time to write Conference Organizers or every e-mail I send out to a thankful mom whose child loves my music!
Today is one of those days where again I was into the good karma stuff. Peter Shankman of HARO (Help A Reporter Out) - check out his website here if you have not heard of him and you should know about this guy because he is happening and just plain funny and fun to be in the presence of - was here in Tampa speaking on social media and how to run a company being aware of how it changes constantly.
His presentation at lunch was entertaining and informative! And best of all I bought his book titled Can We Do That?! Outrageous PR Stunts That Work - and Why Your Company Needs Them … check it out here
My whole weekend will be spent reading this great book!
Again - for those of you who know me - you know how much I want to bring this Boca Beth company national and international, and now that we have BOCA the language puppet and amigo as a 7 foot tall costume character, I KNOW there have got to be some great PR stunts I can pull off with that guy and my bilingual fun beats!
Here’s to Peter! Here’s to inspiring others to think different!

As a former classroom teacher (more than 10 years in the elementary ed level and two years of preschool) I remember those first day of school jitters! Not only are the children nervous, us teachers get nervous and lose plenty of sleep the night (and even the week!) before!
Lightening up and laughing more should be the first thing all of us focus on this new school year. Whether we are stay-at-home moms, homeschooling families, classroom teachers or family child care providers . . . laughter really is physically good for all of us (laughter increases blood flow and protects the heart) and allows us to be more childlike so that we might connect better with those innocent children we reach daily.
And introducing Spanish as a second language this year will prepare your children for what is certain to be a very global economy in which they will live as adults. Read my article here on Starting the School Year with Spanish!
It makes sense, and it makes their lives that much richer.
